So, here I am, back in San Diego. I've only been back a few days but I'm already getting used to the good weather again. Hopefully this winter won't be as rainy as the last.I do miss my DC summer. This was one to remember.
It even ended with a bang. In the Dulles Airport in Washington, DC, you'll never guess who I ran into. His flight arrived in the gate that I was about to depart from. We matched eyes for just a moment as one of us was entering the restroom and the other was leaving it. It was Ron Jeremy. Now that's someone I never expected I would cross paths with in an airport restroom. A small world indeed.
I finally finished putting together my application to be considered a California resident by the UC system. That took me several hours yesterday and it wound up being almost twice as thick as my poetry manuscript. If you ask me, that's crazy. But, whatever. Bureaucracy is a better system than one of privilege or favoritism. It just tends to get bloated, that's all. (Repeat that one until you feel calm, then run the tap.)
