Another Letter to Poland (which could also be read as an open letter to Bill Cosby)

Dear Poland,

After a long hiatus, and knowing that you never take me seriously, I am writing you with great news: I have figured out how to revitalize your now long-tanked acting career.

I see you as sort of a Bill Cosby type. Funny sweaters, Dockers, and so on. But in grayscale. You don't let your pain show through. Why not? We need to get you out of this, Poland. My scheme for you is better in sepia.

I want to put you in a position of semi-authority, Poland. I want to make you a DC metro cop in a dingy blue shirt and black trousers. I want you to carry a flashlight. I want you to stand beside the escalator and watch as I ride up and down with my beloved at Van Ness station. (Ah, my beloved.) I need your eyes as my witness, Poland. It's true. And by the time she's talked me into letting her try on shoes, you'll be at least two blocks behind us.

So, Poland, I guess what I have in mind is something akin to Bill Murray's career transformation. You saw all that, right? I want to see fields behind your eyes. Kids don't say the darndest things, Poland. They don't.

Look. I'll send you some sketches. I found some naked pictures of you online. I'll work with those.
