I began documenting urban development in Barrio Logan back in 2007. Prior to this project, I would frequently had lunch at Las Quarto Milpas—just south from here on Logan. I never paid much attention to the area until the mass exodus of 1700 Logan Avenue. Since then, many pockets between Chicano Park and 16th Avenue have transform significatly, transition the neighborhood into a barrio hot spot.

In 2007, homes and businesses on the 1700 block of Logan Avenue were sold for an afordable housing building. I began this project then, documenting the transition from displacement to uprooting and construnction.

The tour begins at the end of the ally on Beardsley Street, between Logan and National Avenue. Their should be plenty of parking on Logan Avenue, just north of Beardsley.
